Abstract
This article is devoted to expressing the opinion of Qazi Abdul Jabbar Mu'tazili and his contemporary scientist Seyyed Morteza Alam Al-Hadi about the absence of Imam Zaman (AS). During the era of Seyyed Morteza (355-436 AH), one of the most important theological disputes between the Imamiyyah and the Mu'tazila took place among the scholars. From Seyyed Morteza's point of view, the existence of the infallible Imam (a.s.) and the absent Imam is the grace of the Almighty God, and the Imamiyyah believes that God never leaves people on earth without proof out of mercy, and for this reason, the twelfth Imam is absent from the views. they know. At the same time, Shiites also believe in the inherent existence of Imam Zaman. However, from the point of view of the Mu'tazila, led by Qazi Abdul Jabbar, the favor of the Imam is conditional on the fact that the Imam is present among the people and that access to him is possible. Therefore, in the age of occultation, the Imam's kindness towards the obligees will not be realized.
